Haiku for You – February 7 – Ready for today
Coffee level sinks
My awareness starts to live
Ready for today!
February 6 – Shoes
Sometimes, each day is …
making shoes for dead people
who no longer walk
This thought was taken from the book, SHORT-TIMERS by Gustav Hasford. The movie, Full Metal Jacket was based on this book. mjh
Originally this was
Sometimes, this job is …
making shoes for dead people
who no longer walk
But I changed it to each day.
Haiku for You – February 5 – Reflections of
Saw blue flashing lights
Reflected, did not see crash …
Was it really there?
This haiku was inspired by the phenomena experienced by drivers on i85 (and maybe other freeways) where the flashing blue strobe lights, Georgia cops have the brightest cobalt blue anywhere, are reflected off of cars, the sides of trucks, freeway signs and wet pavement. Due the amount of traffic and the multiple lanes, you never actually see the cop car, crash or other emergency vehicles. If the tree falls in an empty forest … if you never see the crash ….

February 4 – SUPER Bowl
Close score, Great defense 🏈
YES, Super Bowl was Super
Old school means I’m old
This Haiku was written after Super Bowl 53 which most pundits felt would go down as the most boring Super Bowl ever.
I was on the edge of seat, as the game was at the point where it wasn’t the team who made the last great play would win, but the team that made the last mistake would lose.
Also, it was the Patriots greatest margin of victory.
People who did not enjoy this game are the type of people thrilled by a designated hitter.
If you feel that you have to pick up a glove to earn that place at the plate ….
